Hand Dyed, Handspun Textured Art Yarns and Art Scarves
This scarf started as Luxurious super soft white 70% merino wool / 30% tussah silk roving. I hand dye the wool in small batches, after the wool dries I handspin the fibers into a balanced two ply yarn. Lastly the yarn are handwoven with my rigid heddle loom.
Wool naturally repels dirt and odors, so there is not need to launder as you would other fibers. If you must wash in water, hand wash in cool to room temp water with a bit of natural wool wash. Do not agitate, then soak in the same temp water for rinsing. Roll in a towel gently to get most of the water out, then lay flat or over a drying wrack to air dry.

Samantha Rose
Fiber Artist
Hello, my name is Samantha (she/her), a local Kootenay fiber artist who’s been graced with the pleasure of residing in Kaslo and now New Denver in beautiful BC Canada. Thank you for visiting my online shop.
My love for tying knots started as a self care practice during the Covid lockdowns of 2020 and evolved as I experiment with different fibers. Currently my passion is hand dyeing fibers and spinning them into beautiful textured art yarns. These art yarns can be used in tapestry weaving, macraweave, macrame, hand weaving, knitting crochet and embroidery.
I love playing with different colour mixtures to see what combinations I can create. I also draw inspiration from the magnificent forests, mountains, lakes and rivers in this stunning place I'm grateful to call home, you’ll see many of these magnificent color ways in my selection of yarns.
I'm pleased to share my love for fiber art. I hope you enjoy adding texture, dimension and colours to your sacred spaces and projects as much as I do.
Look for me in person at markets and artisan fairs in the West Kootenays; you can also find my on Etsy at https://knottielove.etsy.com and of course here at this website.
Thank you, I’m grateful you stopped by.
